Yo, I aint been on this server in a long time and when I try to launch the launcher, I get stuck on the "Starting updater" screen, and it can never seem to connect, I have no AV/Firewall running, and I'm running it as admin, I got UAC off, all that shit, but still no luck. My cousin can open/play it fine, but my other friend is in the exact same situation as me. (Who has the same router as me, but my cousin who can play it doesnt have the same router..)

 

So I'm thinkin the router isn't letting me connect to the server possibly, I'm assuming I maybe need to open the ports for the server on the router, but I have no clue which ports that I would need to open if that is the case lol.. I might just be completely wrong and I don't need to open the ports but still, can't ever open the launcher and have it actually connect, can anyone help? Or anyone had this before?

 

EDIT: Yeh I also have steam open and running too, cause the last time I remember playing was when the game started running through steam back a year or 2 ago.

Due to the size of the sglog.txt I put it on pastebin, here's the link, and a screeny of the error, only thing I can assume is it's to do with my router why I cannot connect from here.

Edit: I tried it with my firewall/av disabled, going to turn the firewall on my router off and try it, I'll edit this post after trying that.

Hmm try to restart your router to get a new IP

Thanks for the reply, I had already restarted my router a couple of times, but I managed to get around that problem by using a VPN, my only problem now is this..

Edit: Well I have to use a VPN to get past the first problem, and for this problem it's because I am using the VPN, so when I disable it, it actually lets me past this error, BUT then I lose my connection to the server.. So I am just completely unable to play, my connection is clearly gay lol.

I manage to get on and play the game now, I have to use Surf East VPN for it, I couldn't get any other VPN to work with it. Must just be my ISP, with it happening to my friend on the same ISP.
